About Me
Hello Stranger 🙂
I’m Lily, a senior in highschool and an upcoming Cornell student pursuing my B.Arch. Photography is my favorite hobby and the lens of my expression. The past several years, I found a growing love for architecture. I strongly value culture, nature, community, and self-expression. I hope you will see that reflected in my work. Recently I have been focusing a lot on my creative expression through a lot of different mediums, so I wanted to showcase all of my favorite work and progress in one place.
Welcome to my portfolio, enjoy.
How Great Thou Art
This past Summer I was in Baltimore, Maryland for a lacrosse tournament. One morning, my Dad and I woke up at 5am to watch the sunrise and explore town. I stumbled across a mural on one of the buildings. It read, “HOW GREAT THOU ART.” I thought about the phrase for the rest of our three hour walk.
I learned the phrase originated from an old Swedish preacher, Carl Boberg. After witnessing a midday thunderstorm quickly followed by the Sun, he was inspired to write a poem about God’s beautiful creations.
I love the phrase and the poem Boberg wrote, and I also like to extend its meaning towards art in general. Every artist has their own beautiful creations, and the sheer concept of the boundless potential of imagination is truly wonderful.
